What are business leaders are saying about Intuition?
“A surprising number of business leaders also use intuition to help them make business decisions. In a poll conducted by PRWeek, the majority of the 252 CEOs surveyed said they were likely to rely on their intuition when making business decisions. It’s something to consider next time you’re debating whether to sign off on a new ad campaign or hire a candidate who sent a bland resume but knocked your socks off in the interview.” from http://life.gaiam.com/article/4-ways-tap-your-intuition
“Often you have to rely on intuition.” – Bill Gates, Founder of Microsoft
Since it is used so much, why not spend some time and effort developing it?
It seems so obvious, however if you are firmly in the second group – those who know Intuition is real but think we must wait for it to show up, it might never have occurred to you that it is something you can develop. It takes some time, but with continued study and practice, you become able to have quick and certain Intuition in any situation.
What notable people saying about Intuition with my observations added:
“Intuition becomes increasingly valuable in the new information society precisely because there is so much data”. – John Naisbitt, Futurist
I use Intuition alone sometimes and then also use it to help me navigate through the data and find what is useful. When I started actively developing my Intuition I was working as an accountant. Often when I was doing a difficult bank reconciliation, I would draw my finger and eyes down a column of transactions. Inevitably, there would be a transaction that caught my eye or on which my finger stopped. It almost always turned out to be the error.
“It is through science that we prove, but through intuition that we discover.” Henri Poincare, Famous 19th Century French Scientist
Intuition and Creativity are used in science all the time. Where? In the development of the Hypothesis which is what one endeavors to prove or disprove. Asking the right question starts one looking in the right and most productive direction. It is also interesting that many scientific discoveries happened when the scientist took a break or shifted activity away from the problem they had focused on for many hours.
“Intuition is the clear conception of the whole at once.” – Johann Kaspar Lavater, 18th Century Swiss Writer –
This quote speaks to an almost magical quality of creativity and intuition. Mozart wrote his symphonies this way. He saw the whole all at once, in an instant. Then he wrote down the details. It also points to something we teach at Yoga of the Mind: Creativity and Intuition are closely related, and developing one will inevitably help you develop the other. This leads us to another delightful quote:
“A hunch is creativity trying to tell you something.” – Frank Capra Famous Classic Film Director.
“You must train your intuition – you must trust the small voice inside you which tells you exactly what to say, what to decide.” – Ingrid Bergman, Three Time Academy Award Winning Actress.
This is my favorite quote, because it describes what we do in our Intuition and Energy Healing class at Yoga of the Mind https://yogaofthemind.com/be-the-intuitive-you-were-born-to-be/ There are many elements that work together to make this class so effective. Being around a group of like minded people is very freeing and validating for your Intuition. Learning to meditate and clear the mental noise so you can more easily hear that small voice inside of you. Specific exercises and techniques that help you sort out your Intuition from your emotional projection. These and so much more.
For me, the benefits in developing my Intuition are comprehensive and amazing. I have the best relationship of my life for the last 13 years. I’ve made more money than before and am earning it doing something I love. And most of all, I have a much greater sense of confidence combined with inner peace that is priceless!
